📐 2. Geodesic Architecture: 1,200 Precision Components
Your dome is not a conventional canvas tent—it is an architectural geodesic sphere engineered from over 1,200 individual precision components, including aerospace-grade galvanized steel struts and reinforced nodal hubs.
Engineering Blueprint
The Precision Triangulation
Based on the geodesic mathematical principles of Buckminster Fuller, the structure distributes loads evenly across interlocking triangular facets (labeled struts G-01 through G-10 and door header frames D-B4 to D-BE).

Mesh Windows Reminder: Domes have mesh ventilation windows. They are designed for airflow, not waterproofing during downpours. If rain or a storm approaches, please close your window covers so water does not blow inside!
📡 3. High-Speed Starlink WiFi & Cinema
The estate is powered by high-speed satellite Starlink broadband. Connect to network Countrylife or life2025 with password: life2025.
In-Dome Projector: Turn on the projector using the remote provided on the bedside table. Connect your phone via screen-mirroring or stream using the pre-loaded apps. If prompted for a parental PIN, use 1234.
♨️ 4. Outdoor Hot Tub Operation & Guidelines
Your outdoor hot tub has been cleaned, topped up with fresh water, and chemically sanitized prior to check-in. We preheat to 30°C–35°C.
Crucial Hot Tub Rules:
- Keep Cover Closed & Clipped: Tubs are outdoor amenities. If the insulated cover is left open, heat will escape rapidly into the cold country air. Always replace and strap down the cover immediately after stepping out.
- Weather Policy: In freezing sub-zero weather or severe wind, heat retention is tested. Temperature refunds strictly apply only if the water temperature drops below 30°C.
- Debris Nets: We provide skimming nets to remove floating leaves or country insects that fly in when opening the lid.
- No Glassware: Please use plastic tumblers in and around the hot tub deck. Broken glass requires a full drain and closure of the unit.
⚡ 5. Heating, Hot Water & 3.6kW Power Limit
Dome Heating: Domes are equipped with electric fan heaters. In colder months, these heaters elevate the dome’s interior by approximately 10°C to 15°C above outside ambient temperatures. Secondary bio-ethanol heaters are available from the guest store upon request if extra warmth is needed.
Hot Water (Immersion Boost): Hot water in our outdoor bathroom pods runs on insulated hot water tanks. If consecutive showers deplete hot water, press the “Boost” switch on the immersion control unit; fresh hot water regenerates within 45 minutes.
Strict 3.6kW Rural Circuit Limit: UK glamping safety rules limit electrical supply to 3,600 watts (3.6kW) per unit. Please do NOT run high-draw appliances (e.g. electric kettles, hair straighteners, and space heaters) at the exact same moment, as this will trip your local RCD breaker. If you have brought your own heater, use it instead of ours, not in addition.
🔥 6. BBQ & Firepit Guidelines (Rule 3)
Rule 3: BBQ — Please Leave It As You Expect to Find It: Having the outdoor BBQ shining clean for every single guest would add £15–£30 per booking in turnaround labour. We decided to focus on everyday value instead so we can deliver direct rates from £49 midweek.
- Please Leave It As Found: Please brush down the grill rack and leave the BBQ in the clean, ready state you would expect to find it for your own meal.
- Ash Seasoning: Firepit and chiminea ash is naturally seasoned and intentionally not cleared down to bare metal between bookings.
- Wood Supplies vs BBQ Charcoal: Hardwood logs provided on-site are intended exclusively for warmth in the firepit or chiminea. If you plan to cook on the BBQ grill, please bring your own standard cooking charcoal.
- Lighting Your Firepit: Tinder/firelighter first in the centre, then small kindling sticks in a teepee, then hardwood logs once lit. Keep fires contained inside the pit at all times.
🌾 7. Countryside Living, Parking & Wildlife
Lincolnshire produces 25% of the UK’s food. Bullington Hall borders working agricultural acreage where wildlife thrives:
Mandatory Food Storage Rule: In cooler months, field mice naturally inhabit the surrounding acreage. Never leave open food, takeaway boxes, crisps, or sweet snacks unsealed inside the domes. Store all groceries in the refrigerator or airtight plastic containers.
Parking & Vehicle Field Safety: You are never more than 60 metres from your accommodation. Please park in designated hardstanding spaces. NEVER drive onto the main grass fields—in wet months, over 10 vehicles had to be rescued with tractors, some taking up to 4 hours to pull out.
Drinking Water: Fresh drinking water taps are located on the outside of the wooden shower block and in unit kitchens.

Estate Heritage • 1148 to Present
🏛️ The History of Bullington Hall
Grade II Listed Estate (1966)
When you sit outside your dome watching dusk settle over the wheat fields, you are resting on land with nearly nine centuries of documented English history.

1148–1154: Foundation of the Gilbertine Priory of St. Mary
The Priory of St. Mary at Bullington was founded as a double house between 1148 and 1154 by Simon, son of William de Kyme. He gifted part of his ancient deer park at Bullington, along with woodland, pasture for 600 sheep, and nearby churches. It operated under the Order of Sempringham, founded by St. Gilbert—the only purely English monastic order in history.
13th & 14th Centuries: 150 Nuns and Canons & The Wool Trade
Under the Rule of St. Gilbert, the community grew to house 100 nuns and lay sisters alongside 50 canons and lay brothers, living in separated quarters under common vows. The priory was a bustling agricultural centre, famously exporting 18 sacks of premium Lincolnshire wool annually across the medieval trade routes.
1538: The Dissolution of the Monasteries
After enduring the ravages of the Black Death, the priory was formally surrendered to King Henry VIII’s commissioners on 26 September 1538 by the last prior and nine canons, with the prioress and fourteen nuns included in the pension register. The monastic buildings were dismantled, and the land returned to private agricultural tenancy.
1840s to Present: Rebuilding, Grade II Listing & The Countrylife
Bullington Hall in its current architectural form was rebuilt in the 1840s using traditional Lincolnshire limestone masonry. In the 180 years since, the estate has had only six owners. In 1966, the property was formally designated Grade II Listed, protecting its historic fabric and ensuring our gradual, authentic restorations honour the heritage of this remarkable countryside estate.
